Amanda Dearden - Mental Health Accredited Social Worker

Co-ordinator

Background
Amanda has studied psychology and social work. She has been working in the fields of eating
issues and sexual assault support and prevention since 2001 - providing counselling, group work
and education.

Interests
Feminism and empowerment principles, and passionate about group work and increasing understanding of eating issues, and working towards prevention.



Isa Pfluger

Therapeutic Support Worker

Background
Isa has studied counselling with an emphasis on expressive and experiential therapies. Eating
issues have been an area of special interest throughout her studies and fieldwork. She has
previously worked as a Yoga teacher and Shiatsu therapist and is an experienced group worker.

Interests
Isa is passionate about working with women towards greater self-awareness, choice and
meaningfulness. Other interests are dance, music, gardening and sustainable living.




Alison (Alee) Lee

(12 hrs per week)
Eating Issues Counsellor

Background
Alee has been working as a counsellor and group facilitator for more than 15 years, drawing on training in Gestalt and narrative therapies, process orientated psychology, and yoga teaching. She works with a range of issues including self-image, relationships, self harm and sexuality, and has a Masters in Gestalt Therapy.

Interests
A commitment to feminism, community and cultural development, the arts and spiritual fulfilment. Alee has a particular interest in the relationship between eating issues, intimacy and self expression and how women experience their appreciation and enjoyment of life.  She enjoys hanging out with family and friends and indulging her passions for surfing, dancing, art and music.
 


Lauren Cameron

Admin Worker

Background 

Lauren is currently studying a Bachelor of Social Work at UQ and is looking forward to a career in feminist
social work.


Interests

Lauren is passionate about feminism and women’s issues and enjoys taking part in feminist social action,
such as International Women’s Day and Reclaim the Night.

 

Donna Alleman

Bookkeeper

Background
She has a Business Degree and has just completed her Diploma of Accounting. She has been a full time bookkeeper for 10 years and runs a bookkeeping service for small business and community groups on the Southside.

Interests
At home, she has 3 children at school and is undertaking a major house renovation.
