Isis is passionate about creating social awareness, promoting understanding and inspiring positive change in our community when it comes to eating issues and body image.
We engage discussion with the media, politicians, community groups, business groups, schools, families and individuals to talk about concerns, share experiences and discuss different approaches.
As women are significantly more likely to have an eating issue, Isis has had a strong feminist perspective in our social action (see feminism & eating issues).
Mission Australia’s 2008 survey discovered that Australia’s older youth and young adults highest concern is body image (National Survey of Young Australians 2008; sample demographic: 11-24 year olds).
Never has it been more important to bring these issues out in the open - for the sake of our community’s health now and for the future.
Or contact us directly to discuss a way that suits you.
